Pascaline was developed by Blaise Pascal. The slide rule is a mechanical analog computer, which is used primarily for multiplication and division, and for functions such as exponents, roots, logarithms, and trigonometry. With the proper alignment of the two scales, it is easy to find the product, quotient, or any other function. One scale slides or slips upon the other. Early businessmen or merchants used the abacus to keep trading transactions. Before 3000 or 5000 BC, a Chinese businessman developed a counting machine with a rectangular wooden frame, known as Abacus.
